So, this is the 5th cat (we got the first 4 back in January, all at once), we have trapped and taken to the free spay/neuter clinic out in Spencer. We call this one Big Daddy, because he's a big, tough tom with only one ear. He's also clearly the daddy of all of the black and white cats in the 'hood.
He's still in the trap, recovering from the anesthesia, but we will release him around 8 tonight.
We are very thankful for the loan of the trap, and for the fact that the free program is every weekend this month (it's usually only one weekend a month).
We didn't catch anyone last weekend, but we got Big Daddy this time, and hope to get two more before the month is out!
Between this one, and China Cat, the primary mom cat, who is in the shelter in Luther, OK....we've managed to get the two MAIN progenitors! This is awesome!!
Mostly, it's Dave's doing...he's the real hero, with the determination it has taken to get this to happen.
All of our months of work, sheltering the wild cats, and feeding them, in hopes to gain enough of their trust to be able to participate in this program, is paying off!
