I sent my husband out for groceries and wine.....
....and he came home with this.
2003 Pontiac Grand Prix. It has over 150K miles on it, but has been overhauled and well cared for.
He found it on line late last week, and started fantasizing about buying it over the ensuing days.
He had found one on a lot a few months ago that he fell in love with, but after we test drove it, he decided not to take it.
He decided to make the truck last. It would be paid off in a few months, after all, and was great for hauling the bikes to the bike trail, and would be great if we decided to get a little camper in a couple of years.
But...for some reason, he started looking at cars on line again recently.
We almost went to see this silver one a couple of times over the past weekend, but one of those times, there were traffic barricades, and closed roads....so it seemed NOT meant to be.
But.
Last night, while I was at dance class, he decided, spur of the moment, to go look at it and take a test spin.
He fell in love. That was what I was afraid would happen *LOL*. This was probably why he did it WITHOUT me!
He was scheduled to be off work today, and the PLAN was that he was going to do last minute running around, a couple of chores, and grocery shopping-- to make ready for the holiday weekend coming up.
But, as I was at work this morning, I got a text message... "Our cash flow is about to change."
Uh oh....
Fortunately, he got a really good deal, and got a great offer for his trade in (pick up trucks are actually more valuable in this market than cars), so the cash flow situation is actually going to IMPROVE.
Based, of course, upon the supposition that this car is NOT going to implode in the next week.
We were almost done with car payments, for his pick up truck, but now we have 36 months to go, but at a lower rate, and with a smaller payment.
So...it could be worse, I guess.
The car is in pretty good shape for it's age. The only thing that worries me is the high miles.
Keep your fingers crossed for us that he did the right thing!
p.s. I got the instructions from seeeeeeeeester, and am going to try the cranberry orange thingie! I bet the left overs will be great with biscuits on Friday morning!
