Baby Louie

Welcoming Dave home after a business trip

INTENTLY watching the Cubbies

SO. We didn't want to post anything here about the new kitty til we were kinda sure it was going to work out!

On the advice of several friends, after attempting to adopt a "younger adult cat" previously, we were coached to not give up, and try again with a kitten.

This is Louie. Adopted last Saturday, at Petsmart, but through the OKC rescue shelter.

He's 4 months old, has gold eyes with a green ring, and even though he looks solid gray, he has stripes if you catch him in the right light.

Jack has started to adapt to his presence very nicely, though there is still a lot of indignant growling and hissing when Louie starts to go kitten crazy. It's been 11 years since I had a kitten around....they are SOOO energetic.

And this one is probably by far the most affectionate kitty I have ever known. He is overwhelmingly sweet.

His first vet check showed that he has the expected worms (most shelter kitties do), as well as an upper respiratory infection. $112 later, he has 2 meds and some special food to eat.

He won't have to say on any of those things, though. It's just to get him normalized.

The worm meds have already started to work, as he no longer lets out farts that could peel wall paper!

So, welcome to the family, Louie!
