Good Stuff

Even though it's a big mess of bugs, and they change stuff without notice all the time, Facebook can be a very good thing.

I reconnected with my childhood sweetheart via Facebook yesterday.  Literally childhood....there's a picture buried somewhere in our family manse of me and him under the mistletoe when we were 5.

We were next door neighbors, and he and his brother, and the other kids our age, played together and went to the same school, and did everything together.  We were like the peanuts gang.

They moved away when we were quite young, though, but we never stopped writing to each other, and we ended up being each others' first real crush/love, long distance though it was.

We had a deep, shared history, and that led to us being very sweet on each other once we figured out what that even meant.

Anyway, years went by, we grew up, we met other people, and the next thing we knew, we were not to communicate again for 30 years.

So this has been really cool, very healing, and lots of fun.  We have a LOT of ground to cover to get caught up, and I'm enjoying every minute of it.

Rumor has it that my desk correction is to take place this coming week.  I have my doubts.

Jack is doing FINE.  There is nothing at all wrong with that cat.  He's going to be 14 in August, and he plays like a kitten, and shows no signs of distress.
