Peace of mind

My scan results came back with good news.  When my nurse called me on Tuesday, she read the portions of the report to me that were pertinent.

The most pertinent was that the left hepatic lobe lesion went from 2.4 cm to 1.7 cm.

That was all .... the report didn't mention the other lesions (if I recall, there were at least 2 more lesions on the October scan, one of which was very close to the stomach, which would be the right hepatic lobe).

She said the radiologist must have only reported on what he saw.

SO, this could mean that the other ones are gone, which is, of course, what we all want.... but she was going to get confirmation on that, and call me back.

She never called me back last week, but I have to go for my labs tomorrow, and when I call her Tuesday for the results, I will give her a reminder.

We had another week of surprisingly mild weather.  It got pretty hot in the afternoons, but we were able to get out and walk in the evenings.

Next week?  Not so much.  The forecast calls for 100 and above for most of the week.

Dave has been thinking about my idea of getting up and walking first thing in the mornings, before we even have breakfast or take showers.

He has to think about stuff for a while before taking any action, especially where it involves getting out of bed.

Have I ranted in my blog about our gas range?

Here's a summary, with an update...

The oven died on June 5th.  We placed an order for a new one that night with the local Lowe's store.

The new range was supposed to be delivered on the 19th.

Then,  they called us to tell us it was delayed to the 21st.  THEN, it was delayed to the 30th, without a phone call from them, so Dave called and asked for a manager.

All the manager would tell him was that the item had been shipped from the manufacturer.

Okay, so you sell something on your website that you don't actually carry in stock, even though, when we ordered it, it was shown as IN STOCK???  Good to know!  Jeez!

We decided to just wait until the 30th.  I really wanted THAT range!

But then, on Friday, Dave checked the order again, to be sure it was still going to be delivered, and the delivery date had now been changed changed to JULY 30th.

No one called us to tell us, he just looked up the order confirmation.

THAT was the last straw.

Yesterday, we masked up went to the Lowe's store, and went to customer service, and we canceled the order.

Then, we went back to the appliance department, and started browsing.  EVERYTHING was on sale...I mean REALLY on SALE....$300-$450 and more OFF of the regular price.

We selected a different range, made by Samsung, with most of the same features as the Maytag we had ordered.  The only thing this one doesn't have is the time converter for convection vs regular baking.  Meh.  I have the internet, I can look up the time conversions.

We found a salesman, and confirmed-then double confirmed-that the range we wanted to order IS IN STOCK (even though it is 3 hours away in Dallas in the distribution center, because the store doesn't have space to stock large items like that).

The original price on the Samsung was more than the Maytag we had ordered, but the sale price was $450 OFF, so it was actually $300 LESS than we had spent on the Maytag.  Even if we purchased the warranty, I would be able to put $200 back into savings!

At first, he said we would have it as soon as next Tuesday.  We said YES, and also, due to the MUCH lower price, we purchased the extended warranty.

As we were leaving the store, however, he chased us down, and said that it wouldn't be Tuesday, because he had found out that the truck from Dallas isn't coming until Wednesday.

We set up delivery for a week from Monday, because our mini vacation for the 4th of July just isn't a good time.

So we went from an almost two month wait for the first one, to a one week wait for this one- and WE were in control of delaying it this time, HAHA!

I'll be cooking with gas again on July 6th!

Unless, of course, they can bring it to us this coming Thursday.... that would be sweet!!

Anyway, we need to get the mowing done before it gets too warm outside.  But first, BREAKFAST.

Have a great week!
