We took tomorrow off to celebrate Yule.
Today, there is much work to be done around the house, as well as going out to get groceries early, so this will be a short post.
I had my scans this week, and they came back 99% good news. Everything is stable and unchanged EXCEPT there are now some new bone spots.
For some reason, when we did scans in June, we didn't do a chest CT....so these tiny spots developed between the October of 2019 scan, and the December of 2020 scan.
My nurse said that the radiologist did not site measurements in his report, and that this indicates that the spots are tiny. She also said that chances are my monthly injection is already dealing with them.
I am symptom free, but if I start to have pain, she said radiation is an option, and is very effective for this kind of thing.
SO, when I see my doctor on 12/29, I will ask him WHY he thinks there are new bone changes for the first time in 6 years, and what we might need to change to prevent any more.
I feel good about the overall news, though. I can relax a bit now.
My menu for Yule is roasted cornish hens stuffed with herbs, roasted root vegetables, and a 14th century recipe for custard tart with hazelnut crust.
For Christmas Eve, my brother sent us a tiny pre cooked ham, and I still have left over cranberry compote, and my special version of green bean casserole in the freezer from Thanksgiving...
It will be an easy feast that night, with the only thing I am making fresh being the spoon bread.
The gift I ordered for Dave weeks ago still has to arrive, as do all of the packages friends have said they are sending.... every day, I get an email from the postal service showing packages that are out for delivery, and every day, nothing comes.
The gift I sent to my brother is lost forever. Dave is going to go see if he can get a refund AFTER the holidays. We paid nearly $30 in shipping. Sigh...
I need to get busy.... have a great week, and happy holidays, if you celebrate!
