My last chemo treatment was 6 months ago today.
Scan day is this coming Friday.
This time, unlike all of the others, I do not have a doctor visit for my results on the same day as the scan. I have been told that the nurse will call me with results.
I am hoping beyond hope that this is because they really do not expect anything to be found.
Provided that the results are still stable, when I see the doc on Oct. 20th, I will find out if I can make an appointment for surgery to get the port taken out.
And why wouldn't the results be stable? The spot in the liver has not changed since the scan done at the end of last years chemo---BEFORE the three months of chemo at the beginning of this year to see if it would change.
I have the whole day off, though and will enjoy the afternoon as best I can
It's pay day, so maybe I will do the bills and see if I can spend a little on some new Halloween decorations or something.
I also have my first dance performance on stage the next evening at an event sponsored by the dance studio I attend, and used to work for.
I can focus on my preparation for that as well.
Today, I am doing three cooking projects, one of which I was supposed to do yesterday, but I had my first really good massage in 7 years yesterday, and could not bring myself to do much of anything all day afterward!
I also have an hour of dance rehearsal at the studio.
On Autumn Equinox, my 7 year anniversary of arriving in OKC as a resident happened. I didn't even think about it until after the fact.
I view this as a positive. Gone is the anguish and pain of having to rip up my deep roots and replant myself.
I guess I've settled in here, and accepted it as what has to be. Took a while, but it was a rough transition to be made.
My new massage therapist is also a transplant, and agrees that it's QUITE a culture shock to come to Oklahoma from somewhere more progressive and realistic.
At least we finally got a Trader Joe's grocery store!
My sister will have to think of other things to send me for Christmas, haha!
Okay, off to the shower and then to the first cooking project. Rehearsal is sort of in the middle of the afternoon, but is much needed, so I will work around it!
Have a great Sunday Funday!
