One of the things I hate the most about Oklahoma is the freaking wind.
It doesn't blow like this ALL the time, thank the Gods, but this weekend, it's been just awful.
Right now, the wind is steady at about 25 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph. We had thought about going to an outdoor ethnic food festival at the botanic gardens, but with this wind, I may say no to that. We'll see.
The wind literally exhausts me. I feel like it sucks the life out of me as it goes by if I am out in it for too long.
I've always been sensitive to the wind, though. Could never sleep on windy nights, even as a kid.
SO, you can see that the title of the post is completely sarcastic.
Anyway, not much to report.
The big boss IS moving forward with the pay survey, AND with a treat for us in the meantime.
Jim (that's the big boss) has put in place a pay period bonus of 15% for us for all of the pay periods in November and December! So, during those months, we will be making 15% more for every hour we work.
How cool is that? Now that the evil one is gone, maybe things WILL start to get better over-all.
I was at the office this past Monday when an email came that the flu shots were available. Luckily, I was able to get mine while I was there! SO glad that is done.
Now, next up in the Covid booster. We were eligible this month, but haven't gotten around to making an appointment. Will do so soon.
I also need to get my drivers license renewed some time in the next 30 days or so. The process is weird in Oklahoma (big surprise), and licenses only last for 4 years.
I got my monthly injection at the oncology clinic on Tuesday. I like the months when that's all I have to do.
November is the injection and the port flush, and December is the blood draw a few days before I go, the scans on one day, and the injection and the doctor (with scan results) on another. Ugh.
We talked about getting the Covid booster on Friday, but I'd already been jabbed twice last week, so I said no more, please.
Dave slept until 10 this morning, and I've just been sitting here on the couch, writing this, doing some on line shopping (Christmas is coming), and listening to the wind chimes clank and clang...
It's time to take them down for the winter.
Off to get my day going, better late than never. Have a good week!
